Does anyone know where the start of Motown happened or where it began? Did someone start this style by themselves or was it a group or what?

Pretty sure that it all started as a record label in which was the first to ever be owned by an African American. It started in Detroit and originated there. The record label became huge and started signing on the best of the best African Americans which happened to be great music.

White people probably disagreed with this so much around this time but couldn’t resist the great sounds of the music. The record label had some of the best of artists of that entire time. Plus this did help people to see that black people were the same as white people in all ways!

You said it Timmy! Motown is kind of known as a genre to a lot of new generations but people don’t know it originated as a record label. It’s important to note that how influential the success of Motown was needed in society. Racism was still very strong and it helped break the ice somewhat.
